Graduates of the interdisciplinary Master's program in Automation & IT have excellent prospects on the labor market, not least due to the fact that the language of instruction is English. The program combines two fields of knowledge: Information technology and automation. Graduates are qualified to fill executive positions, especially in internationally operating companies. Since information technology and automation are gradually becoming one single field of knowledge, the Master's program in Automation & IT was launched at TH Köln. It is an interdisciplinary program tailored to students with prior knowledge in the field. The language of instruction is English, fostering the students' individual competency development just as much as the intercultural exchange with students from Asia or the Americas. The four-semester program includes courses in industrial communications, information security and integration of business information systems. The program is structured with the first two semesters focused on building expertise and methods, the third semester dedicated to case studies aligned with current research, and the fourth semester for the Master's thesis. Key modules include Industrial Communication and Information Security in Industrial Automation, Integration of Technical and Business Information Systems, Modelling and Simulation of Technical Systems, Control of Technical Systems, Optimization of Technical Systems, Case Studies, and Master's Thesis. Graduates have excellent career prospects, especially in internationally operating companies.
