These management instruments are needed for maintaining efficiency, for the production of goods and services, and for the adaptation of logistics systems in manufacturing companies. The necessity of global and integrated production planning and controlling is shown and supported by models and concepts for integrative consideration and cross-company management of the logistics chain. Focusing on supply-related logistics chain solutions for supplier management, strategic and operative make-or-buy decision making as well as the integration of logistics service providers will be developed and discussed. Applied Logistics Management Concepts of electronic business for company supply and sales including problems resulting from the higher complexity of global markets will be covered. Information systems support the complex requirements and tasks within the logistics management by information supply, distribution and processing. Skills for choosing, adjusting, and using information systems will be imparted. Nowadays, as environmental aspects should be considered while planning, designing and executing logistics services, ways to include consideration of these factors in logistics decision making will be covered.
