Über das Programm

The Bachelor's program 'Metallurgy and Metal Forming' provides a general engineering education in the field of metallurgy and metal forming for the production and processing of metallic materials. Through interdisciplinary courses, students gain system competence and the ability to solve engineering problems across disciplines. The program has an international orientation to adapt engineering education to the globalization of markets and to facilitate studies for international students. The focus areas include technologies and processes for obtaining metallic materials that are important in industrial practice, including steel production and processing technologies as well as non-ferrous metals like aluminum, copper, magnesium, nickel, titanium, and others. Another focus is on metal forming manufacturing processes with their property-determining process techniques, covering both hot and cold forming processes in the iron and steel industry as well as the non-ferrous metal industry. The education is both material-oriented and manufacturing-oriented. The first year of study is common to all ISE Bachelor's programs, covering fundamentals of engineering sciences: mathematics, natural sciences, computer science, and introductions to electrical engineering, mechanics, and design theory. In the second and third years, professional field-oriented content is taught according to the specific focus area.
