Über das Programm

The Structural Engineering course of study is dedicated to the planning, construction, manufacture and operation of structures in the fields of structural engineering, civil engineering, transportation engineering and hydraulic engineering. The Bachelor's degree course provides a sound scientific basis and practice-oriented specialist knowledge and prepares students for the diverse requirements of the construction industry. The course focuses on traditional construction subjects such as statics, concrete construction and steel construction, which provide the specialist knowledge required to solve key challenges in the construction industry. Geotechnical fundamentals such as ground investigation and building foundations complement the range of courses on offer and ensure a comprehensive understanding of soil properties. In addition, the course provides in-depth knowledge of construction management in order to successfully master the organisation and implementation of large construction projects. Aspects such as quality management and economic planning strategies play a central role. In addition, students acquire in-depth knowledge of international construction law and national standards, which optimally prepares them for the globalised job market. The Bachelor's degree is the first qualification for a career as a civil engineer, accompanied by the opportunity to gain further professional qualifications. Graduates can find employment as engineers in construction and commercial companies, engineering offices or in the public sector. The increasing internationalisation of civil engineering opens up a wide range of national and international career prospects for graduates. German companies are significantly involved in major international construction projects, making the sector a stable economic factor. From the growing construction industry in major international cities to booming environmental engineering, there are attractive long-term employment opportunities in a dynamic and future-proof field of work.
