About the Program

With the Applied Life Science Technologies programme, you will learn about natural science technologies related to life, medicine, biotechnology, medical technology, and food technology. The aim of the programme is to be able to develop practical solutions to scientific and medical problems. In the first semesters, you will learn the important scientific and technical fundamentals, enabling you to apply them later in specialised subjects. From the fifth semester onwards, you will study the life sciences in greater depth: On the one hand, you will gain a profound understanding of medical diagnostic and therapeutic issues, the interaction of technical systems with the human body, and safety aspects of medical technology. In addition to traditional engineering subjects such as measurement technology and materials science, the curriculum will be complemented by skills such as project management and product management. On the other hand, you will also learn about the various aspects of biotechnology, which combines biological expertise with technical requirements. The main areas of application include: Molecular Biology Process Engineering Food and Pharmaceutical Products Analytics The course will be rounded off with many practice-oriented projects, such as laboratory practicals, project work, etc. The programme is geared towards learning scientific fundamentals and methods, and leads to a vocational, practice-oriented degree that will enable graduates to work independently in applied research, development, production, quality management, project management, or administration.
