Applied Social Sciences

Master of Arts (M.A.)

About the Program

Society is in the midst of a socio-ecological and digital transformation. Technology and society must go hand in hand so that people can utilise the often technology-driven changes to their benefit. This requires experts who can mediate between different perspectives: For example, when introducing new technologies in a company or building new wind farms. In the Master's degree course in Applied Social Sciences, which is both academic and strongly practice- and application-oriented, students work on real-life cases in close cooperation with companies and organisations. There are two specialisations to choose from: Work and Organisation (dealing with the consequences of digital, social and socio-ecological transformation for the world of work) and Innovation and society (focusing on how social innovations can be managed politically, legally and economically, and the balance between technical innovations such as AI and ethical standards).
