About the Program

The Master's program in Architecture focuses on deepening the foundations of the Bachelor's program. Students can choose topics from three focus areas provided by the Faculty of Architecture: Architectural Design as a methodical design and two focus areas: History and Theory of Architecture, Artistic Design, and Timber Construction. The program consists of three semester projects (two architectural and one additional architectural, artistic, or theoretical project) followed by a master's thesis in the fourth semester. Upon completion, students are able to lead groups in complex tasks, promote professional development of others, and develop independent research projects. The degree is a prerequisite for registration with German Chambers of Architects and enables professional practice as an architect worldwide according to EU standards and UNESCO/UIA directives.
