Audio Experience Design

Master of Arts (M.A.)

About the Program

Audio Experience Design (Master of Arts) is a four-semester part-time program that you design yourself in terms of content. The focus is on developing audio experiences at the interfaces of music, sound, language, technology, design, user experience, and design research. The program supports you on both practical and scientific levels to conceptualize, implement, and critically reflect on interdisciplinary projects. The study promotes both creative experimentation and methodological expertise to develop innovative experiences. In the first two semesters, you work centrally on your own project, supported by accompanying seminars on design research and individual supervision by experienced teachers. Workshops with external experts open up additional perspectives and enrich your work. Additionally, you will realize a smaller, interdisciplinary project together with students from other part-time master's programs to incorporate different perspectives and approaches. From the third semester onwards, your master's project comes into focus, which can build on your project from the first year of study (but doesn't have to). The program enables you to analyze, conceptualize, and implement interdisciplinary projects in the field of audio, technology, and user experience. You make design decisions with a focus on innovation, originality, and social value design, and develop into a creative, reflective professional who competently and confidently masters complex challenges.
