About the Program

Students studying towards a degree in Vocational Teacher Education will first study the six-semester-long degree program Bachelor of Vocational Education. You are required to combine a vocational specialization with a general education subject. Subsequently, you have to take the four-semester-long degree program Master of Vocational Education in the same subjects, for which you must (re)apply. The Master of Education degree is a prerequisite for admission to the period of school-based training called "Referendariat". In the field of vocational education, Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and Osnabrück University jointly offer a Bachelor's and Master's degree course in automotive engineering. At the beginning of the course, students are taught the mathematical, scientific and technical fundamentals of automotive engineering at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. These are supplemented with subject-specific didactic skills in the fourth and fifth semesters. The subsequent Master's degree course offers in-depth modules on technology as well as didactics.
