The goals and tasks of biomedical engineering are the research and development of methods and systems for the early detection, diagnosis, therapy, and rehabilitation of diseases. Biomedical Engineering is a multidisciplinary engineering science whose contributions make it an excellent partner for medical research and industry. Students deepen their knowledge of methods and approaches in biomedical engineering. They learn about research and development processes and have the opportunity to apply this knowledge to current issues and tasks. The main focus areas of the research-oriented Master's programme are: Biomedical systems and processes, Signal and image processing, functional materials and Neuroprosthetics/AI. The programme is characterized by a high proportion of independent academic work under the guidance of professors at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen.
