About the Program
Information systems is the science of the design, development, application, (economic) operation and further development of information and communication systems in companies in business and public administration. Due to its interdisciplinary nature, it has its roots in economics, in particular business administration and computer science. As part of the degree programme, computer science is given a somewhat higher priority than business administration, as a solid, broad-based basic education in information technology is essential for the competitiveness and profile development of graduates. The degree programme is embedded in a computer science-oriented environment in the Faculty of Computer Science at Landshut University of Applied Sciences. It is run in close co-operation with the Faculty of Business Administration. The Bachelor's programme teaches the basics of all important disciplines of computer science and business administration. The mastery of methods in the development, application, (economic) operation and further development of information and communication systems is at the centre of the practice-oriented training.
