About the Program

Catholic theology is the science of the Christian faith. The focus is on the argumentative-critical reflection of the Christian faith in God and its relevance for the thoughts, lives and actions of people in the past and present. Students acquire biblical-historical, systematic-theological and practical-theological skills. Research focuses on Jewish-Christian dialogue, biblical hermeneutics, ecumenical and intercultural theology, bio- and environmental ethics, religious socialization, upbringing and education, religious development in the second half of life and selected fields of religious didactics. The program is offered as part of a dual-subject Bachelor's degree, where students study two core subjects or combine a major subject with a minor subject.
