About the Program
The Chamber Music major in the Master's program Music in Performance at the University of Music Würzburg is a consecutive study program after a bachelor's degree or comparable undergraduate degree. It is aimed at both existing ensembles and individual musicians. The program focuses on practice-oriented training covering all facets of chamber music literature. Students work on complete chamber music works in fixed and/or different ensemble formations from various stylistic periods with the goal of performing in public concert series. Each ensemble performs at least one entire public concert per semester. The second educational focus is the production of sound recordings and/or videos. The program includes a Minor in Professionalization (20 LP) covering performance training, concert moderation, program design, and self-marketing. Alternatively, students can choose a minor in solo performance or music research.
