Choreographie

Master of Arts (M.A.)

About the Program

The two-year Master's program in Choreography (maC) offers students space to develop and deepen their own artistic practice. The program understands questions of participation, collaboration, and social responsibility as central to contemporary choreography and promotes an active dialogue on socio-political topics through choreographic means. By engaging with the visions, works, and working methods of other artists, students question their own choreographic strategies and understanding of choreography. They reflect on their practice, further develop their artistic standpoint, and learn to convey their aesthetic approach. Students regularly develop projects in cooperation with klangzeitort, the Institute for New Music Berlin, the Biennale Land(schafft)Kunst in Neuwerder, the Potsdam Dance Days, and various dance training programs. The Master's program is located at the Inter-University Center for Dance (HZT) Berlin, together with the Bachelor's program 'Dance, Context, Choreography' and the Master's program 'Solo Dance Authorship'.
