About the Program

The Classical Archaeology Master's program focuses on investigating the material legacies of past civilizations, particularly Greco-Roman cultures. Students deepen their archaeology and ancient studies competencies by choosing individual subjects related to Greco-Roman history. The program integrates interdisciplinary and workplace-oriented training, allowing specialization in understanding sites and cultural heritage of the Greco-Roman world, genesis and evolution of ancient art and archaeological finds, historical and heritage-related contexts of ancient cultures, problems of ancient eras and their material tradition, categories, media, functions, techniques, contexts, forms and styles, and autonomous compilation of and reflection on current scientific positions. An internship is part of the curriculum and can be completed from the first semester onwards. Studying abroad is recommended in the 2nd-3rd semester.
