About the Program

The Master's program in Cognitive Science aims to provide in-depth research-oriented cognitive science knowledge. This is created in a competence network of social sciences and computer science as well as biology and neuroscience. After a one-semester introduction, students choose three focus areas from: Perception, Cognition and Knowledge, Language and Linguistics, Cognitive Neuroscience, or Computation. In the first semester, courses are attended in these areas, and in the second semester, knowledge is deepened in methodical-practical seminars. The last semester is reserved for the master's thesis. A particularly important aspect is the high proportion of practical training and methodological training throughout the course of study. A six-week industry internship is mandatory.
