About the Program

Books, posters, visual identities, websites, moving images, exhibitions, photographs — students in the Communication Design study programme work in a broad and dynamic field. They plan and implement designs to communicate all kinds of information visually and verbally in an intelligent and aesthetically appealing way. During their studies students learn how to use design tools such as text, graphics, infographics, typography, photography, illustration, video, animation, surface, and space until they graduate with a bachelor's degree (FH). The fundamental disciplines of typography and photography are particular areas of focus. The design curriculum is supplemented by cultural, social, business, and communication skills. After completing a broad-based foundation course, future designers can put together their own personal specialization from the practice- and project-oriented courses on offer. The programme emphasizes a solid artistic education in the field of analog and digital tools. Perception training is understood as a universal basis for design. Independent, responsible work and personal development are highly valued.
