About the Program

The consecutive Master's program in Computer Science is a two-year university study that builds on the knowledge from the Bachelor's program in Computer Science. Students can choose a specialization in a computer science field and gain the ability to perform demanding development and independent research work in computer science. Currently, the department offers the following specialization areas: Algorithmics and Deduction, Embedded Systems and Robotics, Information Systems, Intelligent Systems, Distributed and Networked Systems, Software Engineering, Visualization and Scientific Computing, Data Science (only in specialization 1). A theory module, a module in formal foundations, elective lectures from other computer science areas, and a large free elective area complement the two specializations. The Master's study begins with about two semesters of lectures from the above-mentioned areas. The theory modules should be completed as early as possible. In the second or third semester, a research project in the chosen specialization must be completed. The study concludes with the Master's thesis, which covers the entire fourth semester.
