About the Program

The Master of Music in Correpetition aims to enable students to pursue a successful career as a répétiteur at a high-quality opera theater or at a university after completing their studies. This is achieved through individual subject-specific as well as general musical and musicological education and the teaching of non-subject-specific competencies. The program develops skills in working with ensembles, expands manual means of expression, and deepens knowledge in the specifics of Early and New Music. The Correpetition course places great emphasis on training for opera correpetition as well as instrumental and vocal correpepetition. The curriculum includes private lessons in the core subject and score reading, intensive project work with school ensembles, music theory, ear training, counterpoint, voice training, analysis, instrumentation and musicology. Additionally, students receive intensive piano lessons, Italian language instruction, direction projects, and essential knowledge of the physiological and psychological aspects of musicianship and practice, as well as career path support (legal studies, self management, promotion).
