About the Program

The Master's degree programme in Cultural Analyses is research-oriented and is rooted in the tradition of cultural and social sciences as well as gender studies. It examines the materiality, mediality and digitality of contemporary cultures and their historical foundation. The aim of the course is to recognise interdisciplinary socio-cultural problems, develop questions and work on them independently and scientifically – alone and in a team. The starting point is socially marked, gendered and ethnicised body practices, clothing and worlds of things. The degree programme is based at the Institute of Material Culture and cooperates with other institutes. The programme offers 120 ECTS credits over 4 semesters and can be completed as full-time or part-time study.
