Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

The Bachelor's program in Curative Education is designed for those who want to contribute to building an inclusive society. The focus is on people who need assistance, for example due to disability, addiction, mental illness, or migration. The goal is not only to help these people but to work together with them to create a life that enables self-determination and participation for all people. The program provides the foundations for this work.

Graduates of the Bachelor's in Curative Education are comprehensively prepared for the responsible task of professional assistance. In particular, they are capable of well-founded conceptual work. The degree qualifies for activities in youth welfare and in institutions for people with disabilities, in therapeutic practice, or for leadership positions in curative education and social therapeutic institutions. The program also prepares students for Master's studies.

The courses cover the basics of educational science, anthropology, ethics, and social law. In addition, the history, theories, and models of curative education are addressed. Besides several practical phases, artistic elements are also part of the studies: painting, sculpting, eurythmy, and music play a major role, especially regarding their therapeutic application possibilities. The General Studies (philosophy, art and cultural history) complete the program.
