Cybersecurity BSc

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

Due to the megatrend of digitalisation, large areas of the economy and society are being opened up by means of IT and interconnected in ever larger networks. However, the higher the degree of networking, the greater the vulnerability to attacks by hackers. Large-scale attacks can cause immense economic damage, paralyse important services and stand in the way of a society's digital sovereignty. Cybersecurity deals with all aspects of information and communication technology security and thus serves to protect against attacks. In doing so, it expands classical IT security by including the entire emerging cyberspace. The Cybersecurity degree programme provides a comprehensive insight into the technical aspects of cybersecurity and IT security. Cybersecurity is viewed from the perspective of hackers (e.g. penetration testing), software developers (e.g. secure programming), network planners (e.g. network security protocols) and system operators (e.g. forensic analyses). Necessary basics, e.g. cryptography, are taught in an application-oriented manner.
