About the Program

The Bachelor minor subject 'Digital Humanities' enables students to acquire practical digital competencies that are increasingly important in humanities and cultural studies for both research and professional practice. The program combines application-oriented courses with theoretical foundations, allowing students to expand their professional capabilities beyond their main field of study. The goal is to develop and systematically use IT-supported methods and digital resources while reflecting on their application, problem areas, and benefits for research and society. Students gain expertise in digital analysis of cultural artifacts, historical texts, music, and other data-based content, as well as in visualization methods and information provision. The program comprises 63 credit points distributed across mandatory foundational courses (24 CP), application and project phases (15 CP), and elective specialization options (24 CP). Students can specialize in areas such as Image-Object-Space, Language-Text-Literature, History-Culture-Mediation, Digital Music, or Cultural and Social Reflections on Digitality. The program includes a practical project or internship (6 CP).
