About the Program

The Digital Humanities module program is an orientation course at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), which is studied for two semesters. During this time, students can attend lectures, seminars and tutorials of the Bachelor's degree program in Digital Humanities and Social Sciences and take examinations, which can be accredited to a subsequent degree program. Students also have full student status as defined by the Bavarian Higher Education Act. The program offers students the opportunity to acquire sound knowledge of the foundations of the subject and practical application skills in the field of digital humanities and social sciences and to complete the course with a certificate. The modules are divided into three areas: Fundamentals of digital humanities, Fundamentals of computer science and mathematics, and Specialization.
