About the Program

Computers and the internet have an enormous influence on today's communication. Media are digitally conceived, designed, produced, transferred, stored, and used. The master's program in Digital Media and Technology is jointly offered by Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin), Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin) and Humboldt-Universität Berlin (HU Berlin). The program equips students with knowledge and skills at the intersection of software development, digital media technology, journalism and communication science, media research, and information science and media management. Students can specialize in technical areas (audio and language, image and video, data science, media systems and networks, human-machine interaction) and non-technical areas (media communication and impact, information science, and media management). The program includes a three-month internship and culminates with a master's thesis in the fourth semester.
