About the Program

The Digital Media program focuses on shaping our digital future. The program analyzes digital media cultures, history, and technical foundations while enabling students to develop and implement their own practical projects in areas like video, audio, games, apps, or mash-ups. The internationally-oriented bachelor program is taught entirely in English and focuses on the latest discussions about digital media from Germany, the USA, India, Japan, and China. Students can complete part of their studies abroad, for example at the School of Creative Media at Hong Kong City University, with the possibility of obtaining a second international degree by extending their stay to two years. The program combines theoretical engagement with media studies and history with practical introduction to programming basics and creative use of digital media. Approximately half of the courses take place at Hamburg Media School, and the other half at Leuphana University Lüneburg. The program consists of 180 ECTS credits total.
