Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

Digital Media is an interdisciplinary course of studies concerned with both the theory as well as the application of planning, conception, design, technical implementation and evaluation of interactive multimedial application systems. Studies integrate aspects of media theory, media engineering, media science and media design. Besides the general foundation courses, students can choose between two main thematic areas: The program Media Design offered by the University of the Arts Bremen focuses on artistic and design aspects of the field. Graduates are awarded the title Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). Studies in Multimedia Engineering (Medieninformatik) are focused on the technical engineering aspects. Graduates are awarded the title Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). The curriculum includes foundational semesters with introductory modules into computer science, design and digital media, followed by advanced and specialized courses, a Bachelor Project, and the Bachelor Report. A semester abroad is compulsory, typically undertaken between the 3rd and 5th semester.
