About the Program

The Education Sciences program is part of the teacher training program in Rhineland-Palatinate and consists of three disciplines: Educational Science, Psychology, and Sociology. In Education Sciences, students focus on designing teaching-learning and educational processes in schools and classrooms, their framework conditions and effects, as well as the professionalization of teachers and school development. The M.Ed. builds on the B.Ed. program in Education Sciences. Students acquire competencies and knowledge in fields such as education and upbringing, development and learning of children and adolescents, social framework conditions of schools, design of teaching and learning processes, cooperation and communication, differentiation and individual support, dealing with heterogeneity and inequality, use of digital media, professional competencies for teachers, and school and classroom research.
