Educational Science Master

Master of Arts (M.A.)

About the Program

The four-semester Educational Science master's program provides both a research-oriented and a profession-based course of study that deals with questions of development and education, teaching and learning, and advisement and organization. Students specify a major study topic depending on their interest and technical profile (either Social Education or Adult Education/Extracurricular Adolescent Education) and supplement it with practical professional competencies acquired during a systematic preparatory and follow-up internship. The program includes theoretical expansion of empirical knowledge in the "Research Methods" module, with opportunities to perform small-scale research projects in research workshops. Modules from other subjects and exchange programs with foreign universities ensure the interdisciplinary and international alignment of the program. Major topics can be set in Social Education and Adult Education/Extracurricular Adolescent Education, as well as advanced modules in the fields of advisement, moderation and supervision, organizational pedagogy and organizational consultation.
