About the Program

The European Master in Embedded Computing Systems (EMECS) is a two-year Erasmus Mundus Master's program where students study one year at each of the EMECS partner universities (RPTU, University of Southampton, Norwegian University of Science and Technology). The core program consists of three study areas: Embedded System Hardware Architectures, System Software, and System-on-Chip (SoC) Design Methodology. The elective program includes Advanced Topics in Embedded Systems, Communication & Signal Processing, Automation & Control, and Microsystems. Graduates can describe, analyze and structure interdisciplinary tasks of embedded systems, calculate and construct microelectronic components, design and implement technical solutions using mathematical and algorithmic methods, work in teams, and present their results in a structured manner. Upon completion, students receive a joint Master's degree (M.Sc.) awarded by all three partner universities.
