About the Program

The cooperative degree program in media engineering is aimed at prospective students who, as well as aiming to attain an academic degree, would also like to gain practical experience in an industrial enterprise. This degree program offers the ideal combination of academic studies and professional work experience. The internships are scheduled during the semester breaks. In the first segment of studies, lasting three semesters, students learn the basic principles of mathematics and electrical engineering. The four following semesters of specialization focus mainly on various aspects of media technology with additional focus on the areas of software development and networks. The degree program is supplemented by non-technical subjects such as sales, marketing and project management. One of the highlights of the degree program's overall hands-on approach is the TV production internship, which is carried out in a state-of-the-art training studio. Electronic distribution channels for content have evolved beyond traditional broadcasting to include streaming platforms, IPTV, content delivery networks and digital cinema. Media engineers are needed wherever video and audio content is produced, post-edited, distributed and presented. Our graduates' professional fields include development, system integration, operation, consulting or technical sales and marketing. Their professional profile is characterized by a combination of IT know-how and sound knowledge of video, audio and electrical engineering.
