About the Program

This summer academy is run by HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, one of the most attractive universities and the second largest of its kind in Germany. The Munich Summer School of Applied Sciences "Engineering for Sustainability" programme embraces in-depth study in the fields of engineering and business administration. It is application-oriented, teaching state-of-the-art technology. The programme structure and academic content is as follows: The summer academy is scheduled for five weeks. Students will take part in an intensive German language and culture course during the first week, which will continue part-time throughout the study programme on two Fridays. Students will select two credit courses in the field of engineering that are taught in English by multinational teams of two renowned lecturers and comprise aspects of sustainability and green technology issues. The following courses are planned: Smart Vehicles Introduction to Embedded Computing Sustainable Mobility The Potential of Renewable Energy Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems Start-up Launchpad Sustainable AI Agents Control Engineering for Sustainable Technical Processes All courses will be assessed in order to best enable students to receive credits for the programme at their home university. For this reason, the academic programme has been developed in collaboration with California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences guarantees professional assistance for participants in the summer school. The programme coordinator, professors and student buddies will guide you through the programme. Besides the course, we will offer an official cultural programme and field trips and will give you the opportunity to connect with international students.
