Master of Arts (M.A.)

About the Program

The Master's program in Film brings together art and technology. To truly understand filmmaking, it's important to engage equally with historical and new forms and working methods. The program focuses on audiovisual storytelling, examining questions like 'What is film?', 'What does cinematic storytelling mean?', and 'What audiovisual means are needed to take viewers on an emotional journey?'. During the three-semester study, students work on multiple film projects for various platforms, realizing a film project from conception through production to post-production. The program offers specializations in Film (directing, camera, editing, production, screenplay, dramaturgy, acting direction, film studies) and Sound Design (design, technology, audio-visual science, music). The Bachelor's program Film & Sound together with the consecutive Master's program Film enjoys the status of a film school education in the international CILECT association.
