Master of Arts (M.A.)

About the Program

In the postgraduate Master's program in Fine Arts, students deepen their artistic-creative and art-scientific competencies acquired with the BA by setting individual priorities. The study can be completed in the following areas: Graphics (drawing, printmaking, book), Painting/Sculpture (interdisciplinary projects, installation, art in context), New Media (photo, video, digital AV media, installation, performance). In project-related contexts and in individual studio work, students expand their existing repertoire of artistic working methods through interdisciplinary and contextual approaches. The CDFI offers a variety of possibilities for artistic engagement with its workshops and institute-owned studio spaces. The Master's program is primarily in the form of independent studio work and individual weekly consultation (individual supervision). It is supplemented by artistic group instruction as well as seminars and lectures in related fields (including art history, art theory, philosophy/aesthetics) to enable students to integrate art-scientific and philosophical knowledge.
