About the Program

The Master's program in German Studies is anchored in the linguistic, literary, media, and cultural studies focuses of the Institute of German Studies. On this basis, the program offers research-oriented qualification with opportunities for individual specialization. The Master's program consists of two attractive elective areas that can be freely combined. In addition to practical and project-like forms of work, scientific working methods and the acquisition of in-depth methodological and subject-specific knowledge are at the center of the program. The subject offerings are supplemented by a mandatory internship. The Master's degree in German Studies thus opens up the possibility of continuing the purely research-related education with a doctorate, and at the same time imparts key qualifications for humanities professions outside the university.
