About the Program

The Bachelor's program in History offers a chronological, thematic, and systematic overview of history from antiquity to the present. The aim is to analyze past worlds, worldviews, actions, processes, structures, and concepts and to critically discuss them based on current research findings. Questions of continuity, conversion, and change are at the forefront. In-depth consideration is also given to questions of relationships, comparisons, and transfers between different political, social, economic, cultural, and religious structures and systems of order. The training aims to promote critical awareness of theories of historical perception, as well as to provide the foundations for independent research and its methods, and the ability to evaluate historical and contemporary problems. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates have the ability to collect and interpret historical facts and data to reach judgments on questions of the formation and development of societies. They are able to communicate information, ideas, problems, and solutions in the field of history to both specialists and laypeople and to take responsibility in a team.
