About the Program

The internationally oriented, English-language Master's programme offers students a broad interdisciplinary training in the field of urban health. It is designed as an intensive, full-time postgraduate programme and has a focus both on practical interventions and on operational/implementation research. The MSc GUH programme holds an accreditation from the University of Freiburg and the Baden Wuerttemberg Ministry of Science & Arts until 2030. The overall goal of the intensive MSc programme is to strengthen participants' competence in developing analytical and management skills to meet the challenges of urban health, identifying and quantifying biological-psychological-social threats to health and risk factors in urban areas, developing knowledge and skills in prevention, control, programme development and implementation, monitoring and evaluation for improving urban health, designing and conducting research projects in the field of urban health, making proactive evidence-based decisions, gaining leadership qualities and effective working skills, and enhancing independent and reflective thinking.
