About the Program

The Midwifery (Hebammenkunde) program builds on your professional experience and provides an expanded and differentiated view of the complex field of midwifery. With this additional academic education, you will be able to act with scientific foundation in the areas of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care, as well as in counseling and supporting families. The program is divided into three focus areas: Midwifery, where you learn to critically reflect on your professional actions and handle complex cases; Reference Sciences, which teach you how midwifery work is coordinated in healthcare organizations and society; and practical application. The program prepares you for leadership roles in clinics, private practice, or innovative forms of integrated care.
