About the Program

High-Integrity systems are complex, software-controlled systems that protect people, the environment, organizations, and society. They can be divided into two application areas: Safety-Critical Systems (SCS) which have a direct impact on the life and health of people and the environment, used in industries like aerospace, automotive, railway and ship systems, energy generation, medical technology, SCADA and others; and Mission Critical Systems (MCS) which have high criticality regarding the functioning of an organization, e.g., ERP, CRM and others. The Master's program in High Integrity Systems is a consecutive study program with 120 credit points distributed over 4 semesters. The curriculum includes compulsory modules such as Safety Critical Computer Systems, Advanced Formal Modeling, Introductory Data Analysis, Implementation of DBMS, Mathematics Update, Advanced IT-Security, Data Mining Methods, Formal Specification and Verification, and a High Integrity Systems Project. Additionally, students choose from various compulsory elective subjects in areas like Real-Time Systems, Machine Learning, Distributed Systems, Testing Methods, and more. The program concludes with a Master thesis in the fourth semester.
