About the Program

This program provides the fundamental knowledge necessary to have a successful career as an archaeologist specializing in Western Asia. The program teaches methodological approaches to conduct in-depth analyses of archaeological data and the ability to work in interdisciplinary research groups. It also conveys broad knowledge about the history and archaeology of the ancient Near East. Due to its international character, the master's degree program contains a significant number of courses taught in English. The scope of courses includes time periods between the Epipaleolithic and the Islamic periods. Geographically, the program covers regions from Anatolia and Syria to the Indus Valley and from the Caucasus Mountains to the Arabian Peninsula.
