About the Program

The Bachelor's degree in History at the University of Kassel is designed as a combined Bachelor's degree: History is studied as a major subject with an optional minor subject. The program provides an overview of all periods of European and non-European history. In the introductory modules, students deal with central topics and approaches to the history of antiquity, the Middle Ages and modern times. Students learn to differentiate, analyze and critically evaluate the most important source genres. In the in-depth modules, they intensify the knowledge gained in the introductory modules on European and non-European topics. Students can deepen their personal interests by choosing from a wide range of courses. The program includes an 8-week internship at home or abroad and prepares students for various professional fields such as personnel management, adult education, journalism, museums, archives, teaching institutions, or archaeological sites.
