About the Program

The course of study IberoCultura focuses on the language, literature, and culture of the Spanish-speaking countries of Europe and Central and South America, such as Spain, Costa Rica, Argentina, and Chile. It also examines the media of these language areas in seminars on media culture and analysis. In addition, the curriculum also includes intensive training in oral and written Spanish as well as translation. The program is designed to teach students the skills necessary for careers in a Spanish-speaking environment or as an external cultural liaison, an important prerequisite of which is knowledge of the historical, societal, and cultural background of the Spanish-speaking world. This is a 2-field degree program where IberoCultura serves as the Major Field.
