Industrial Engineering

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

Industrial engineering links engineering to business in order to produce graduates competent in finding cross-disciplinary solutions to complex problems. The degree course is offered in partnership with Universität Hamburg, which runs the business part while HAW Hamburg covers the engineering side. This combination allows students to access a broad and diverse range of classes with roughly equal proportions of theoretical and practical elements. The initial semesters focus on the acquisition of fundamental principles for STEM and business subjects, taught in required modules. As the course progresses, students can follow their interests by making appropriate choices from the wide range of required elective modules on offer. The course finishes with a Bachelor thesis. Industrial engineers work in a wide variety of fields and roles, from engineering design and technical quality control to marketing and management accounting.
