About the Program

Computer Science is a key technology with a broad spectrum of methods and applications. The Bachelor's program in Computer Science provides the skills and competencies required for a first professional qualification. In addition, through scientifically based and fundamentally oriented studies, it lays the technical and methodological basis for basic and application-oriented research in the field of computer science. It is thus also a prerequisite for further studies (Master's degree) at home and abroad. The program aims to enable graduates to work successfully throughout their professional lives and therefore imparts not only contemporary content but also theoretically underpinned concepts and methods that endure beyond current trends. The program focuses on providing fundamental knowledge in mathematical and theoretical foundations of computer science, basics of computer architectures, computer networks, operating systems and IT security, modern methods of software design and knowledge and experience in dealing with modern programming languages, software and database development environments, and training in algorithmic thinking to solve complex problems.
