About the Program

The M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies on Eastern Europe aims to impart interdisciplinary cultural and methodological competencies related to Eastern Europe. The program analyzes cultural, historical, legal, political, and economic processes in Eastern Europe. Students learn about and critically evaluate various models and theories, develop scientific judgment and linguistic skills, and carry out independent analyses and research projects on Eastern Europe. Program features include interdisciplinary cultural competence, introduction to interdisciplinary research, occupational training through project work and internships, research covering all regions of Eastern Europe, and a broad historical focus from the Middle Ages to the present day.
