About the Program

The Interface Design program in Kiel focuses intensively on the connection between interface design and product design. It aims at the integral design of usage processes of hardware and software in the sense of holistic design competence. The program focuses on designing relationship experiences between people and between people and artifacts - from functional products and software applications to service offerings and social structures to media installations. During the studies, designers consciously leave their terrain and seek the challenge of electronic experimentation and narrative storytelling in animation and film, as well as interdisciplinary proximity and friction with the research work of inspiring scientific disciplines. Always with the goal of opening eyes and thoughts and questioning with empathy how design can be sustainably developed according to human needs and desires.
