About the Program

The Bachelor's program in Catholic Theology is aimed at those who want to engage with theological questions on a scientific basis. The special feature of the program is its interdisciplinary orientation: depending on your interests, you choose another subject alongside theology - whether as a major or minor. Around 30 different subjects are available for combination, such as archaeology, business administration, German studies, various languages, political science, as well as media studies and sociology. The three-year Bachelor's program 'Major in Theology' comprises 12 modules (with a total of 120 credit points): In addition to the 9 prescribed compulsory modules, you select 3 more modules from the range of elective modules. The compulsory modules include an internship and the Bachelor's thesis. The minor subject study, which is also designed for three years, is divided into 7 modules (with a total of 60 credit points). Both courses of study include introductions to biblical, historical, systematic and practical theology, as well as thematically oriented modules that each examine a core question of theology from the perspective of the various theological subjects.
