About the Program

The Master's program in Cultural Studies is versatile and research-oriented. It builds on the Bachelor's program in Cultural Studies but is also open to applicants from related fields. Like the Bachelor's program, it is interdisciplinary in structure, while enabling targeted content profiling. Four different specializations are available, each focusing on different disciplines and professional fields. The nationwide unique profile of this Master's is based on three pillars: innovative course offerings, exceptional disciplinary diversity, and a novel supervision concept similar to that of a graduate college. The research-oriented Master's program imparts scientific and professional qualifications for numerous fields of application and prepares students for further university qualification (doctorate). Graduates who do not pursue an academic career but aim for professions in business, cultural management, journalism, etc., can acquire diverse methodological competencies that make them attractive for various fields and employers.
