Kunstgeschichte Master

Master of Arts (M.A.)

About the Program

The goal of the Master's partial degree program is to introduce Bachelor's graduates to various subject areas and research contexts in the field of Art History based on their in-depth basic knowledge of art history, to confront them with current research questions, and to encourage independent research work. This objective is flanked by an introduction to research practice through participation in colloquia, research and exhibition projects, and the discussion of research problems in front of the original (major excursion). The program imparts in-depth competencies and an increased level of reflection in dealing with architectural, pictorial, and art works. In particular, methodological competencies and knowledge of the discipline's own history enable independent scientific activity. Interdisciplinary perspectives and social competence are also promoted.
