Landscape Architecture

Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

In the Master's degree programme in Landscape Architecture, aesthetic and social scientific content and methods are combined with scientific and technical knowledge, enabling students to tackle the complex challenges of today's world from a spatial perspective. Students acquire advanced specialist knowledge of the history of nature, landscape and the city, providing them with a solid basis that is applied to projects, which represent a core element of the programme. A close connection between research and teaching enables students to tackle today's major challenges in depth – such as dealing with the impact of climate change, the wave of urbanisation experienced throughout the world, and demographic change. To accommodate the complexity of these issues, we place importance on the methodological development of differentiated knowledge of systems, transformation and implementation within our subject. The fact that the degree programme is integrated in the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Sciences means that students can engage in interdisciplinary debate with their future planning partners in the realms of architecture, urban planning and urban design.
